Website Design FAQ

A website is a collection of web pages, multimedia content, and other resources that are hosted on a web server and can be accessed through the internet using a web browser. It is a platform for publishing information, conducting e-commerce transactions, providing services, or building an online community. A website may consist of static or dynamic web pages that are created using various web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and can include text, images, audio, video, and interactive features. Websites can be accessed by anyone with an internet connection, and they can be used for a wide range of purposes, from personal blogs to large-scale corporate websites.
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which is the practice of optimizing a website's content and structure to improve its ranking and visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs). The goal of SEO is to increase the quantity and quality of organic traffic to a website from search engines, such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo. SEO involves various techniques, including optimizing website content with relevant keywords, improving website structure and navigation, building high-quality backlinks from other websites, and ensuring that the website is mobile-friendly and loads quickly. SEO also includes on-page optimization, such as optimizing title tags, meta descriptions, and heading tags, as well as off-page optimization, such as social media marketing and online reputation management. Effective SEO strategies require a thorough understanding of search engine algorithms and user search behaviors, as well as continuous monitoring and analysis of website performance and search engine rankings. By improving a website's SEO, businesses can increase their online visibility, attract more qualified leads, and ultimately drive more conversions and revenue.
Only our staff assigned to your project will work on your account. We DO NOT hire out to third party companies or send your tasks overseas.
There’s not a one-size fits all answer to that question. A website design is quoted based on the needs of each client. Every website and client is unique and requires different components; we design and develop custom websites specifically for your business. We’ll ask a lot of questions, assess your needs, and give you a quote based on that assessment. Most of our sites run in the $2,000 range, but can be more or less depending on needs.
Absolutely not! We work with clients all over the country. Our team works remotely, allowing us to find the absolute best team for our business. We do however have offices in Charleston, SC and Huntsville, AL if you'd like to come by and say hello.
That depends. If you chose a custom HTML site, you'd only be able to update it if you know the coding language and know how to transfer files to a server environmnent. Most clients pay us to update in that instance. However, if you go with a site that has a built-in content management system like WordPress, we’ll provide you with a login, and a training session to help you learn your way around. Most clients start off wanting to manage their own site, but generally have us do updates. It's totally up to you.
No. We design several dfferent ways. We design straight HTML sites from scratch or WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, E-commerce sites in Shopify, SalesForce or WooCommerce. WordPress is a great content management system that powers more than 30% of the internet sites to date. Its market share is reflective of it’s flexibility and ease of use. We will design your site based on what's best for you and the needs of our business.
Absolutely. We aren't going anywhere. We have over 20 years in the business. We provide on-going updates, maintenance and support for most of our clients.
Yes! Having a device-friendly website is more important than ever! We work hard to ensure your website looks great on a variety of devices.
Most of it will come from you. You have the best knowledge of your business, so it’s usually best if it comes from you. But don't fear, we have content writers on staff that can help you.
We will assess your needs and preferences in a website meeting. You will be able to describe the type of website you want. You will also be able to provide us with examples of websites you like. We will use this information, and our own creativity, to build a website that fits your needs for your business.
It usually takes us 4-6 weeks to complete a website once we have everything that we need to start the website. It can be faster depending on how fast you get us items we need.
If you have an existing website, we will not have it taken down until the new website is complete. The new website will be developed on a temporary URL. We will not make it live on your domain until it is complete and meets your satisfaction. If you do not have an existing website, we can put a “Coming Soon” page up on your website while we are developing it. We will build the website on a temporary URL. We will not make the website live until the website is complete.
We would need clear copies of your logo, pictures and/or graphics you'd like to include, access to your hosting account, domain name, and any content that would like to have on your website. Once we have this, we will start the design on the website.
There are three main costs in having a website. There is the domain name, hosting , and initial fee for website design. You would have a monthly fee only if you're going to have us maintain the website and/or host the website. Domain names are renewed yearly.
Let's look at your website in terms of a tv commercial. The domain name is your tv commercials "title". It is usually your business name or a name something that is associated with your business that people will easily remember. For example: www.yourname.com The hosting for your domain name is kind of like the tv station that broadcasts the commercial so that people can see it. It is a server that houses your files allowing the public to view your site. The actual website can be thought of as the information and visuals that make up your commercial. With out that, the other 2 are useless. It is important to convey the best possible message via visuals and information on your site. You want your website to work for you like a commercial does, except further. Your website will work for you and represent you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You always want to look your best!
